Question:

Hi folks.  I mostly lurk here, but have a question now.  Lately when I’ve been running (well, actually jogging since I’m right at a 10 min mile) I’ve been getting two different pains in my abdomen.  The first is low, right inside when the hipbone sticks out.  The other is much higher, like under my ribs.  My question is whether or not these are both due to side stitches (lactic acid build up) or something else. Granted I know that only a doctor could "diagnos" my situation, but I was wondering what you running experts think.   Thanks,

Response:

Is the pain constant or does it tend to change during the run? If it is a side stitch, or gas, it will most likely change (move around a little, come and go, etc). Also, does it fade if you slow down or increase if you speed up? And, does it go away when you aren’t running?

NO, once it comes, it stays constant until I stop for 5 minutes. Also, does it fade if you slow down or increase if you speed up?

Uhhhmmmm. I think it increases when I speed up, but doesn’t fade when I slow down, unless I actually stop running. And, does it go away when you aren’t running?

Yes. So, what think ye? Thanks in advance.
