My symptoms are always worse at night. I also had a urinary problem that they never figured out before all this IBS shit started. ——————-==== Posted via Deja News ====———————–       http://www.dejanews.com/     Search, Read, Post to Usenet

I posted some questions to this newsgroup a few weeks ago regarding symptoms.  Thanks to those of you who responded, I appreciate all of your input. I want  to reiterate those questions and a few more for anyone who wishes to respond.  Your responses are very important to me. You see, I’m headed to the Mayo Clinic next Monday in hopes that they will find  a way to end the suffering I’ve endured for 6 years now.  I’ve been diagnosed  with IBS, however, some of my symptoms just do not fit at all.  For instance,  most of the postings I’ve read describe "attacks" or "flare-ups" of IBS  symptoms in response to some triggering mechanism (usually food or stress).  I  don’t have "attacks", I just have chronic pain all the time.  Sometimes the  pain is worse, but it’s always there.  For me, there are certain "triggers"  such as alcohol and food that bring on more severe pain from cramps, bloating  and gas.  However, there must be a "chronic trigger" responsible for my  constant, unending pain.  This is the reason that I’ve decided to go to Mayo  to find the "chronic trigger" and eliminate it. I have a very good idea what this trigger may be.  You see, this whole thing  started with a urinary tract infection that I contracted sexually.  I’ve had  urinary symptoms and bowel symptoms ever since that time.  My urinary symptoms  include pain (in the bladder area), frequency, drastically reduced flow rate  of urine when emptying my bladder, and an inability to hold even relatively  small volumes of urine in my bladder without significant discomfort.  My bowel  symptoms are exacerbated by my urinary symptoms.  I’m convinced that they are  linked, and that if they can alleviate the urinary pain, the bowel symptoms  will disappear. Your responses to the following questions will serve as valuable evidence to  support my argument when the time comes during my visit at Mayo: – Can you pinpoint the exact point in time that your symptoms began? – If so, was the onset of symptoms gradual? – Have your symptoms gotten better or worse over time? – Do any of you have significant urinary tract symptoms like discomfort,   frequency, and reduced flow rate? – Is your abdominal pain chronic? (i.e. never ending?) – Have you ever thought that you may have contracted your condition from  another   person? I would very much like to hear back from as many of you as possible.  Again,  thanks to those that have already responded…and, thanks in advance to those  that will. "Nothing is more important than your health…nothing."

I get frequency and urges when I get my bloating and spasms.  I think it  presses on my bladder when this happens.  Or causes spasms in my bladder too.

Oops!  I forgot one more question: – Are your symptoms severe each and every morning? "Nothing is more important than your health…nothing."
