Pain Meds.
Question:
Annie, I talked to my mom yesterday and from what she told me the Alley is open again. (She said it was closed for 3 days due to the smoke from the fires.) Don’t miss Sanibel Island when you go over to the west coast. Those shells you get on the Island are just the prettiest ever ! When we’d drive over there I’d hit the beach first thing early morning at low tide and walk along in the water just where it breaks..like a foot or so from the shoreline, and that is where I found the best shells. Most of them were totally intact and just beautiful. *sigh* wish I could go with you, I miss home at times. BTW…do you need net access while there? Will you have a computer there? If where you are staying has the extended calling into Ft. Lauderdale area for free let me know. You can use one of my accounts I maintain there. — MrsRat Admin XWorld IRC NetWork http://sefl.satelnet.org/~brats/
Response:
Well Tom, we don’t get the newspaper here and we don’t have a TV. Not that Phoenix news would have coverage of what is happening in Florida. I get news from CNN website and have not seen anything there about the fires. I have not talked to my mom who lives in Ft. Laud. either in the past few weeks. Your posting on it is the first I heard. — MrsRat Admin XWorld IRC NetWork http://sefl.satelnet.org/~brats/

Mrs Rat: Yeah I can let you know more about it. Just pick up any newspaper, watch any news report, and come out from the rock you are under – and you’ll see that the state of Florida has been on fire for several weeks now. Also – this just in – Clinton impeached, NATO invades Yugoslavia and Denver wins the Super Bowl. I live in central florida, close to clearwater and thank god were not coking YET. Also Tom back to the pain meds. I started taking them because I had joint and muscle aches. The GI perscribed them. I just went to the ruemetologist (sp) and I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Check with your doctor or get another one. Good luck to you Tom. Dear NG: I was curious why everyone is taking pain meds – not that I oppose them – actually I’d like to get some. I just did not know that they were prescribed for Crohns. Are they?? Are they used for abdominal pains/cramps or for some other pain?? I have lots of pain, so should I ask my GI for some?? Until I saw it on this NG, I thought we just had to live with the pain.. Painfully Yours, Tom C., choking on everglades fires in Florida
Response:
Tom: Talk to your doctor about pain meds. I have UC and have on occasion taken Darvocet or Percocet for the pain. You should not be in pain – your doctor should be able to help you. I also take long, hot baths for mild pain, and sleep, sleep, sleep. Stretching exercises help some too. Good luck and hope those fires are just about out! Rebecca
