Question:

I drink them all the time though lately I’ve been slowing down on them a little.  The caffeine doesn’t bother me but with too much soda, I live in the bathroom.

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hi guys,   Got a question?  I am having pain left of my belly button.  My bad spot, but my sed. rate looked fine a few weeks ago.  I have been drinking a lot of Fresca with citric acid, because I am trying to stay away from caffeinated colas.  Iam wondering if the Fresca is part of the problem.  I also cut down on my zantac.  Does any one else out there have trouble with sodas that have lemon or citrus bases.  Let me know.-Lee

Response:

Lee Can’t really answer your question. The only carbonated soda I can drink that never gives problems is ‘ginger ale,’ so I’ve stuck with that. Never had a problem with ‘Sprite’ either, but I can’t buy that where I live. Lee- When I was having a flare, carbonation of any kind really bothered me…. Be well- Tracy my homepage: http://home.talkcity.com/ParadiseDr/goodboie/index.html  : )  smile – it makes people wonder what you’re up to!

Response:

Yuck Fresca… The problem is not soda it is your taste in soda.. LOL just joking. I can’t drink lemon/lime flavored soda because they cramp me up. I do drink 2+ liters of Coca~Cola a day with no problem. Try cutting out the soda all together and see if that helps. You can also try drinking Chamomile tea to calm your gut down. Don’t drink the tea if you are allergic to ragweed don’t drink the chamomile they are related plants. Mike Got questions?  Get answers over the phone at Keen.com. If I am correct, I think that Fresca has grapefruit juice in it which could definitely affect you CD/UC.  I would try sprite if I had to have a soft drink and try to avoid them altogether. Lee I only drink Sprite … and though it normally doesn’t bother my gut, it does at times bother the reflux Maryjo – who doesn’t do caffeine very often and when she does its Sweet Tea
