Question:

I don’t know if I’m doing this right so if there is a repeat message please forgive me. I recently went to the dr. for a fractured toe and some shoulder pain diagnosed a yr ago as tendonitis and bursitis that won’t go away. I was running a low grade fever at the time. The dr. ran some tests rheumatoid arthritis (ok) kidney function (ok) etc… but she ran some kind of test for lupus and said it came back suspicious. It came back as 1.8 or something. Which she said was the highest number possible for normal. And told me to come back in a few weeks if I still had aches and pains. I have had a low grade fever almost daily for a few hours. And I’ve had a blurry spot in my vision with a headache a few times. The only thing the blurry vision days had in common was that they were sunny and I had been outside. I feel tired all the time but don’t know if its just lazy tired or what. And I am unsure about going back to the dr. becuz I don’t know if I’m just a hypochondriac or what. (I’m 23 and have been called that all my life) Compared to most of you here, my complaints are minor to say the least, but are they valid? I thought maybe someone here who is really going through this could help. Koe, Hi!  Lots of us lupies have been accused of being hypochondriacs. Sometimes I even think that about myself! <g> Your doctor sounds as if he/she is doing the right thing, looking in to things, and waiting to see what happens.  Do go back to the doctor when time for your next appointment.  The same thing happened to me when I was 16 and my doctor ran tests and thought I had juvenile diabetes.  I didn’t but she was on the right track.  Unfortunately, my parents got fed up with the testing and appointments.  I never went back.  Ten years later I was diagnosed with SLE during a week long stay in the hospital!  Anyway, your doctor may not find anything wrong-but if he/she does then you can work together to try to prevent any serious complications.
